Tucker Kraft’s Week 8 eruption in Packers-Steelers convinces Matt LaFleur of one thing
The Green Bay Packers had a big dose of Tucker Kraft in Week 8 against Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road at Acrisure Stadium. Kraft toyed with the Steelers’ defense, as he went about his business and went off for a career-high 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven catches and nine targets.
The 24-year-old Kraft’s performance against Pittsburgh adds to his impressive third season in the NFL. He is on pace to become the first Green Bay tight end in history to have at least 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Through seven games in 2025, Kraft has 469 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 30 catches and 11 targets.
LaFleur hints at bigger offensive role for Tucker Kraft after TE’s stellar outing in Packers-Steelers
Kraft’s huge performance couldn’t have made LaFleur any happier. LaFleur even seems to drop a hint about a much bigger load downfield for the former South Dakota State Jackrabbits star tight end.

Matt LaFleur on potential of building #Packers offense around Tucker Kraft: “We’d be crazy not to. He was a beast. He was a man possessed. You’ve just got to find ways to get him the ball.”
Even with the return of wide receiver Christian Watson, Kraft didn’t lose his luster. He was simply the most effective weapon downfield for quarterback Jordan Love.
Kraft’s career-high in receiving yards against the Steelers bested his previous mark, which he had just set in Week 2’s Green Bay victory over the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field, in which he racked up a total of 124 receiving yards and a touchdown on six receptions and seven targets.
Could he set a new personal mark in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers?
